Day Visits

Tailor Made Day Visits

The activities available for residential groups are also possible to do as Day Visits.

Whether Reception or A Level, we will design a day of activities to meet your requirements.

Popular Key Stage Two Day Visits

Evacuee Day

Experience life as an evacuee during the Second World War.
Several activities at Leeson House including Enigma Orienteering, Sing songs, Digging for Victory and Air Raid Practise. Groups could even arrive by Steam Train from Corfe Castle!

Pond Studies

Visit Leeson to find out what lies beneath the murky waters of our ponds. Look out for Great Crested Newts, Dragonfly Larvae and Water Scorpions! Focus on their adaptations, use of keys and food chains.
Have a pic nic lunch followed by hunting for minibeasts or something very different like orienteering!

Example A Level Biology Day Visit

Visit Studland Sand Dunes to study vegetation succession. Students will carry out interrupted belt transects to investigate the environmental changes and biotic differences across the dunes. Abiotic and biotic data will be collected and groups can then travel the 10 mins back to Leeson House for data analysis.

Example Geography Day Visit

GCSE or A Level Geography day visits can be arranged. Please have a look at our Geography pages for further details.

Outreach - We come to your schools

Leeson tutors are more than happy to visit your schools to provide 'hands on' activity sessions, such as:

Geology Workshop - find out lots about rocks and fossils

Team Challange - communication, team skills, imagination and a sense of adventure is required to work through up to 10 different team games

Animal Trackers - learn about the adaptations of some of Britain's most well known animals. We will bring some of our taxidermy specimens to your classes to study and draw.
